The Quizlet Android app is free to download. Using our app is a great way to create and review study sets on the go! To download the Quizlet Android app, open the Google Play Store app on your Android device and search for Quizlet.
Finding sets to study
Students and teachers on Quizlet are creating new study sets all the time. This means there’s a good chance you'll be able to find a study set on the topic you’re studying by searching for sets that have already been created.
To search for study sets, tap the magnifying glass at the bottom of the app.
Type the topic that you’re looking to study -- the more specific, the better. For example, you’ll get more relevant results if you search for Diagram of the human heart than Anatomy.
If you find a set you would like to study, but it doesn’t contain all of the terms and definitions you need, you can make a copy of someone else's set, edit it, and save it to your account.
Creating and editing study sets
To create a study set on the Quizlet Android app, tap the Create icon at the bottom of the screen. Then, tap Create study set.
Enter a set title. Then, start adding terms and definitions.
Once you’ve added at least two terms and definitions, you can save by tapping the Checkmark at the top of the screen.
The app syncs with the Quizlet website, so you’ll be able to see study sets created on the Android app from an iOS device and our website once they have been saved.
Please note that unpublished draft sets (which are only visible to you on your device’s Home feed) will not sync with the Quizlet website or other devices until they are saved.
To help you study on the go, Learn, Flashcards, Write, Match, and Test modes are all available on our Android app.
To start a study session, choose a study mode at the top of the set page and tap the icon.
Try Flashcards mode first for a quick and easy way to become familiar with your study set. Or if you’re already familiar with your set, try starting with Learn mode to get a feel for what you know or don’t know. Each interactive study mode will help you to review your study set and help you gain mastery of your content.
You can use Flashcards mode to review terms and definitions or questions and answers on the Quizlet website and mobile apps, just as you would paper flashcards.
Learn mode takes the guesswork out of studying by creating a personalized study plan based on your familiarity with a study set so you can master everything you need to know.
When studying with Learn, Quizlet will prompt you with different types of questions — flashcards, multiple choice and written. As you answer questions correctly, you'll start to see harder question types (written, flashcards) more often than easier question types (multiple choice).
Write will prompt you with a question (either a term or definition) and you type the answer. Similar to written questions in Learn mode, Write grades your answers and shows you questions you answered incorrectly throughout a study session to make sure you master your material.
Match is an interactive learning game where you race against the clock to match your terms and definitions as quickly as possible.
See how you might perform on an actual test or quiz by taking this auto-generated practice test. You can customize your test questions to match the type of questions you’ll see on test day.
Creating and managing classes on the Quizlet Android app
You can create a class to organize and share your study sets. To create a class, select the Create icon at the bottom of your screen, and then tap Create class. Enter a class title and description (optional) and then tap the checkmark.
To add class members, go to your home feed and tap the class title. If your class isn’t on your home feed, tap View all to see a list of all of your classes. Tap the Members tab, open the overflow menu and then tap Invite members.
In order to join a class on Quizlet, you need to have an account. If some of the people you invite don't have accounts, they'll be prompted to sign up before they can join.
To add study sets to your class, tap the Sets tab from your class page, open the overflow menu (indicated by three vertical dots) and select Add sets.
