Quizlet users with Quizlet Go, Quizlet Plus or Quizlet Teacher accounts can study offline on the Quizlet iOS or Android apps by following the steps below.
Downloading your study sets to review offline
Open the Quizlet app and log in while connected to the Internet. Go to Settings, then tap the toggle next to Save sets for offline studying.
Quizlet will automatically download the 10 sets you've created or studied most recently from your Latest feed and store them locally on your device. Depending on how many terms and images these sets contain, it could take several minutes for them to fully download.
To download other sets for offline use, tap the title to download it to your device. When a set finishes downloading, all of the content (including images and audio) will be stored on your device.
Be sure to stay logged in to the app while you're offline. Quizlet requires an Internet connection to log in, so you won't be able to get back in without reconnecting.
Sets that have been downloaded for offline use will appear as they do when you're using the app online, with titles in black text. Sets that haven't been downloaded yet will have their titles greyed out.
All mobile study modes are available to use for studying offline.
Managing your downloaded sets
To remove the sets you've stored for offline use from your device, open the Quizlet app and tap Settings. Then, tap Remove downloaded media. This will free up the device storage space these sets were utilizing, but won't remove them from your account on either the app or website.
Android users will also be able to see how much space their downloaded sets take up on their devices.
Creating and editing sets offline
You can create and edit sets offline, but won't be able to add images or use Scan document on iOS. Sets you create or edit offline will be saved in draft form while you're offline, then automatically published when you reconnect to wifi or data.
I have a free account. Can I study offline?
Offline functionality is only available to Quizlet Plus and Quizlet Teacher users, so you'll need to purchase a subscription in order to study offline. If you'd like a free trial to see if offline will work for you, please let us know!
Will my offline study progress be saved?
Yes. Your offline study activity will be saved locally on your device and then synced with Quizlet's servers when you go back online. After reconnecting, you'll be able to see the progress you made offline and pick up where you left off.
Will my teacher be able to see my work if I study offline?
Yep! Once you reconnect to wifi or data and pull down to refresh the app, all of your offline progress will be synced to Quizlet so you and your teacher can see it.
Can I study offline from my computer?
Not currently, as we don't have a desktop app with offline capabilities. We may build one in the future, though!
What isn't available to use offline?
